Bolton Wanderers: Transfer Deadline Day – Le Toux Deal Off
January transfer window deadline day is upon us!
At the time of writing this has been a tremendously quiet window, the Sky Sports totaliser stands at a relatively meagre £27,900,00 and over a third of that is generated by sale of Gary Cahill and purchase of Tim Ream.
As we know from recent press conferences, Owen Coyle has stated that he is looking to bring in another 2 players, and some of the possible moves are already known to us.
However, I have been informed that the Sebastien Le Toux bid is dead in the water and has been consigned to the dustbin of transfer rumour history. It doesn’t appear that the French-American national did enough on trial to warrant an approach and the manager prefers to explore other options to bolster the attack.
Personally, that looks like a bullet dodged as i’m not convinced there would have been enough time to get him up to speed after the MLS break and it would have been a significant step-up to start scoring goals in the Premier League.
Wilfried Zaha talks were ongoing but there has been no confirmation from either party that a fee has been agreed. I can’t see Palace letting this guy go for £5million unless the add-ons and profit clauses are huge. They have him on a newly signed and lengthy contract, they’re only 8 points adrift from the playoff places and bigger clubs are sniffing around. It would be a highly improbable set of circumstances that resulted in this deal going through. Surely its only chance is if the player forces the issue but again that is unlikely.
Ismael Bangoura from Al Nasr SC in the UAE Pro-League and currently at the African Cup of Nations playing with Guinea is another deal that has gone quiet after attracting a lot of initial interest. A loan move appeared preferable for both clubs but it seems that the distraction of the African Cup of Nations could prove a stumbling block to any future deal given the time constraints and Guinea’s progression from the group stages.
As ever we’re keen to hear what you have to say and any transfer stories that you may have. Feel free to leave comments about who you would like to see signed before the deadline or any whispers that you may have heard.

RYO MIYACHI deal has gone through, will be announced later today, on loan until the end of the season. Not sure how good/bad he is.

Cheers for the heads up john.
Hopefully he’ll turn out to be a good loan for us.
