Owen Coyle was finally unveiled as Bolton's new manager on Monday and immediately insisted his move from Burnley was purely motivated for footballing reasons, while he's confident the Trotters will remain in the Premier League this season.
Coyle left Turf Moor last week having enjoyed a successful two-and-a-half years with the Clarets, leading them into the top flight, and the lure of a future with Bolton proved too much to turn down.
At a press conference televised by Sky Sports News, Coyle said: "I think it was a difficult week for everyone involved and I am a football person so to not be able to be on the training ground was difficult. I am excited and looking forward to the challenge, it was an unbelievable wrench to leave but on balance I am excited about the challenge ahead of us."
Coyle also denied any suggestions he moved to the Reebok because he was offered more money.
He said: "It is such an exciting challenge and that is what we are looking forward to. If you look at the infrastructure, the academy, the training centre - everything is geared for top-flight football and as the manager it is my job to make sure that remains.
"But I believe Burnley will still be a Premier League team but my frustration if you want is that we took them to a level that it was always going to be difficult. Some of the stuff written has been ridiculous, I have never been driven by money - if it was finance I would have taken the job at Celtic in the summer.
"It was a knee-jerk reaction from some people, by people who do not know me because people who know me know I poured my heart and soul into that job."
Coyle is desperate to keep Bolton up this season and could make a move in the January transfer market with the funds available.
He said: "Having met the owner as well as the chairman, I think if there is something there that can improve the football club, I think we will look at it.
"I have to be fair to the squad we have got and assess them, having said that the January market can be inflated - as regards Burnley I think they have got some fantastic players and any club that has got players then they will decide on that."
